Confederation of Indian Industry and Andhra Pradesh Technology Development Centre (APTDC) with the help of Govt. of AP has established an Integrated IPR facilitating Cell at ICICI Knowledge Park, Turkapally Village, Hyderabad. This Cell is being established to cater to the growing demands of the industries in AP for Patent Search and analysis, Patentability advisory services, IPR awareness and training.

Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) has been used by the developed countries as a business tool to achieve economic gains in the world of competitive technological scenario. With the opening up of the Indian economy, Indian companies have to compete not only within the country but the overseas giants.

APTDC is an autonomous society of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), TIFAC and Government of Andhra Pradesh. APTDC has been promoting IPR awareness programme and helping industry/ entrepreneurs in patent search/analysis activities. APTDC has also established linkage with World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), Geneva. One of the APTDC professionals has been trained in WIPO.

The State Govt. in their recently published Biotech Policy has entrusted APTDC with the responsibility of providing IPR facilitation services to Biotech industries in the state.
